  • 1998 Quinnipiac College/Student Health Services, regarding computerizing all tracking activities
  • 1998 SCSU Department of Public Health's Graduate Program, regarding integrating computer skills into the graduate curriculum
  • 1998 Norwalk Health Department - Healthy Families Survey Analysis
  • 1997 Database consultant to CT DPH/HUD Project. Developed an environmental audit tracking database.
  • 1996 Database consultant to state health departments (AL, NH, MN, NC, SC) for developing lead surveillance/follow-up relational database. In-depth consultation with database design and report programming to the Alabama Health Department. Lead surveillance & follow-up activities to NIOSH/Respiratory Division, WV. Provided technical assistance (Epi Info programming) to Colombia, South America.
  • 1995 Database consultant to DPHAS/EEOH Division. Contract-tracking database set up May, 1995, with menu-driven report capabilities.
  • 1995-6 Database consultant to DPHAS/Safety & Health Committee. Occupational Disease and Injury. Database set up March, 1995, with menu-driven report capabilities.
  • 1994- Present. Database consultant for SCSU Alumni Association/Public Health Chapter's MPH Accreditation Committee and Service Committee. Developed relational databases for tracking alumni responses and mentoring activities.
  • 1994-6 Survey research consultant to Columbia University-Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association's Northeastern Regional Chapter. Survey form was used in January, 1995. Statistical reports and narrative submitted (1995-6).

  • For Fall 2004 - Currently planning with proposed implementation of a state-funded grant project.

Brown, Jessica. (2006)

  • August 2007 - Accepted a new position at Stonehill College, Easton, MA, new Healh and Wellness Educator.

Crown, Lea. (2006)

  • Working for Meriden Health Department, had several grants funded. Started a community walking program with 100+ members.

Garcia, Erica (2000)

  • The agency that I interned at and completed my Special Project was granted a $10K grant from CONNSACS (the CT state agency that oversees all sexual assault crisis centers), Primary Prevention Grant. They will hire two facilitators at 10 hrs/week for one year to educate middle school adolescent boys on gender roles, stereotypes, anger management, and responsibility. Coordinating Council for Children in Crisis will work at renewing the grant every year.
    [Editor's Note: Erica's Special Project was probably instrumental in raising awareness about the need to refocus rape prevention and intervention activities towards men than just working with women.]

Gallo, Valerie (1998)

  • Implemented (and always revising) and currently evaluating "Project Athena" - a multi-session behavioral intervention for HIV+ women. Supervise 5 employees; implemented many other programs at AIDS Project, Hartford.

Hansen, Pam (1993)

  • 1995 New Haven Health Department/Maternal-Child Health Division. Assisted in the delivery and dissemination of health education material on Medicaid Managed Care and its impact on New Haven residents. Developed workshop and training on Medicaid Managed Care and welfare reform for social service agencies, outreach workers and providers.

Helsey, Caye A. (1995)

  • 1995 ITT Hartford Insurance Group/Health Promotion Coordinator. Building a corporate health promotion program to reach 20,000 insurance employees. Our mission is to reduce health care cost and improve the health and well-being of employees their families.

Israel, Alyssa (1999)

  • Currently self-employed as a Public Health Consultant. Has recently organized several conferences in the New Haven area.

Kelly, Marianne (1997)

  • I received my MPH in 1997. At that time I was the Director of Client Services for AIDS Project New Haven and also an HIV/AIDS Educator for the Beyond Fear Program (DPH & DOC), which provides 6 week certificate programs in the prisons statewide. The curriculum includes health, immune system, HIV/AIDS, STD's, Safe Sex, at-risk behaviors, etc. I have also written the latest curriculum for the Beyond Fear Program and it was recently approved by the DPH. Implementation scheduled in early 2008. I still teach three classes per week (Gates, Corrigan and Radgowski prisons). Was Registrar of Voters from 1999-2005. Asked to run for Town Clerk and won-up for re-election now (Nov 6, 2007). I am divorced (happily) and have two children-Daughter, 23, is in graduate school at American University in DC-MPA/Law Major. Son, 22, a film major at Full Sail in Winter Park, Florida. I have an incredible life, even with the ups and downs that go along with each passing year, I am SO grateful for my life.

Otterspoor, Suzanne (1993)

  • 1995 Housatonic Community College. Education presentation & screening for depression; Domestic violence workshop; HIV education; College student health survey; Health education programs for on-site day care (10x/yr); Community service fair of 20 local agencies to educate and arrange future internships for students; College sexual assault policy development

Ring, Abby (2002)

  • 2003 - Completed a comprehensive community needs assessment of 12 town service areas. Wrote and received a $225,000 substance abuse grant. Implemented community recreation, nutrition and tobacco programs.

Sariyildiz, Alice (1997)

  • Pasco County, Florida. Coordinator for the Chronic Disease Community Intervention Program ($109,000 grant) - to reduce morbidity & mortality from diabetes and cardiovascular disase in the uninsured/underinsured population of the Rural East Pasco (migrant farm worker community) and surburban West Pasco.

Van Oss (Damone) Tracy (2000)

  • Developed-implemented and currently evaluating my bicycle safety program utilizing Quinnipiac University students for a community health class. Collaborating with the Brain Injury Association of CT and Safe Kids of CT to assist with helmet distribution (from grant) and educational brochures. Great success!

Winterhalder, Joy (1993)
